Example - When we found a four leaf clover, you will have a lucky day or something good is going to happen to you.

Significance
Symbols compare two things together, and convey more things than its obvious meaning. Symbols also express a poet's feeling or attitude towards someone or something.

Line

Line - unit language of number in a stanza.

Example -

I have a cat
It likes to get in my hats.

<-------- Two lines in this stanza.


Significance
Every line has an idea in a poem. Lines help readers know where and when to stop to think back what they've just read.

Couplet

Term 


Couplet - two lines that have same meter and end with the same rhyme at the end sentence


I'm listening to my ipod
Because the weather is hot. 

Significane - We can almost do anything with couplets. They can stand as a single thought, which means they can exist on their own and be a separate stanza or poem. Rhyming couplets make peoms easy and interesting to read.

Elegy

Term 

Elegy - A sad and sorrowful poems, usually lamenting the death of someone.

Example

The curfew tolls the knell of parting day,
The lowing herd winds slowly over the lea,
The ploughman homeward plods his weary way,
And leaves the world to darkness and to me.














Siginificance


Elegy help to express feeling, mercy of death and laments of poet for their beloved one. People can easily express them by writing a poem

Meter

Term 

Meter - A basic rhythmic structure of a verse. Meter is when the stresses occur in a regular pattern.

Exmple - 


This day | come back | for me | love you


8 syllable , 4 iams 






Siginificance
Meter and rhythm are closely related. The job of meter as well as is to bring some sord of emotion to the readers or listeners, to touch their heart with the words and syllables.

Stanza

Term 
Stanza - a unit of poems make up of lines text. 


Example- 


The poem has 5 stanzas, we have to remember 3 out of them. 

Imagery

Term


Imagery - a desctriptive word use to describe object, mostly use the 5 senses. 

Example 


I close my eyes and see a garden
Flowers bloom everywhere, just like a dream
I touch them, I feel them.
Each of them have their unique smells. 
















Signifiance:
Languaga Art poetry if don't have imagery then it will be extremely boring. Imagery help the readers to connect the story to them. They can see, smell, feel what it is that we are talking about. A character maybe. And it will make the story more interesting.

Poetry - A work that can express feeling through words rthymes music and allow the listener to flow together with the music.

Example - The sky is blue
The clouds are white
Flowers are white
Just like the clouds
Floating freely
Just what I want.







Significance: 

Poetry is importannt it is needed in language art. Poetry can be read out loud for people to communicate with each other. Poetry can be written in a hard way and difficult to understand. Poetry can express feeling, emotion. People will feel happier and love their lives more. Poetry bring feeling to people.
